You can look at almost any area of personal growth today and you will see this common theme of “being before having” as a fundamental principle of success. Great inspirational teachers such as Brian Tracy, Jack Canfield, Robert Allen, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay just to name a few have all spread this same message in their respective fields of expertise.
You may be asking yourself “How can I start? Being my ideal healthy weight before having it. ” .Start by understanding the process of change. There is a three step mental process that we all go through whenever we decide to make changes in our lives. The first step is to become aware of something we wish to change. You must become aware of what habits and behaviors you currently have which are keeping you over weight.
These automatic patterns of habit and behaviors that surround your current eating and exercise, are ultimately determining whether you remain over weight or become thin. You don’t even have to think about them you just do them automatically.
It is important to pay attention to when where, why and how you eat. In doing so you will determine which habits and behaviors you need to change. If you’re not sure which of your habits are healthy or unhealthy, educate yourself. Knowledge is powerful, and there is tons of free weight loss information available.
Once you are aware of what to change its time get honest with yourself about how to change. It is unlikely that one can ever make positive changes in their life with out a little self honesty. You’ve got to be able to accept where you are now… good or bad. If you’re having trouble accepting your self as you are now, or you’ve been in denial about which of your eating and exercise habits are causing you to be over weight you must be honest and forgive your self and then face the facts. Permanent weight loss requires acceptance.
The final step is to get off your duff and take some action. Without physical action nothing gets done in this world, much less losing weight. This is where making it “automatic” really makes things a lot easier. As much as 90% of human behavior is caused by habits that are as “automatic” as breathing. Just imagine how nice it will be when that 90% of your behavior is working to keep you at your ideal weight instead of overweight.
